Halloween Haunt... The Madness Begins.

On Sunday night I left for Knott's Halloween Haunt annual rehire event, I didn't get home until six in the afternoon the next day. I've gone through this once before and of course I've gone threw a much worse endeavor of new hire. 
I absolutely LOVE haunt, I've worked as a monster there only 3 years but I hope to do this the rest of my life. There are hardly words to describe it. The best I have ever been able to come up with is that if you've ever seen the Nightmare Before Christmas or better yet the Disney movie called Halloween Town, it's like living in Halloweentown. 
Seriously, it is the best thing in the world watching monsters and witches and zombies walking around, talking to each other like normal folks before going out and scaring the LIVING CRAP out of people. I've seen goblins eat salad at lunch because the wife wants them to "watch their figure" and seen a clown and a vampire hold hands as they walk off towards the fog, it is truely amazing being apart of this event.
But it take A LOT of work to put together. One of the things in that process is rehiring all of the people who were there last year and want to come back (like myself). It takes a mountain of paper work and SO much time. My GOSH the time you have to wait and sit and wait and then wait more. It's awful.
It is absolutely worth it though.
This is year I am the same character as last year, a misfit creation in the Doll Factory.

I actually made the doll in the picture, her name is Dahlia. I love dolls in general, because I am secretly 5 years old. Working in the doll factory I often use toys to scare people with, and then there is my trademark laugh. I sound like a little girl playing hide and seek but come from something like the creature above, well of course it is going to be creepy.

My haunt family are some of the greatest people in the world, the friends I've made at Knott's are the most wonderful and dedicated people. I would defend them with all my power, they maybe different from everyone else but that is what makes this event what it is.

There is no where else who does a better job at scaring than we do. I'm inviting any one who has been reading this to come down and watch us do what we do best. I'll be happy to hear your screaming ovation. (I will post the dates and a link when it gets closer to Haunt.)
