Anyway, I don't mosh or get into the pit because; firstly I like to see the band secondly I AM A LITTLE GIRL. Seriously, I'm what 5'3? Come on! There is no way I'm going into a war zone with guys like this!
or this!
There is a rule that all metal heads go by, no matter what genre they are in whatever scene it transcends gender and ideals. And it's that you enter that zone at your own risk. People used to pull others in but they hardly do that now. You have someone push you in or you jump up to the task yourself.
To be honest, I've actually seen guys try and regulate the chaos that we call the pit, and for the most part it works. Although I haven't been to a real punk show so I can't say anything about those kids, but at the shows I've been to the circle for the circle pit is often perpetuated by a few really big guys (ones that no one wants to f**k with) who pick out the guys that are just trying to start fights and the regulators tend to keep the flow going.
But I want no part of that cause most of the time even with the regulators you've basically got a cluster of people just throwing themselves around not caring who they hit. And I'm just not one of those people who find that appealing. AT ALL. Often enough pits just look like this to me.
and if your not too far above them they can look more like this.
Do you understand the madness? Don't get me wrong I love it! Because I like to pick out the cutest boys and you know wonder things about them, there is just something about a big guy smashing peoples faces while head-banging to what ever is on the stage. It's pretty hot. However I refuse to elbow my way in there for a number or two.
Now I understand that there are girls who have enough balls to jump in that war zone and fight like she is the baddest dude on the floor. Case and point this picture which I found on the interwebs.
This chick is BRUTAL.
To those ladies, I commend you! That is insane, and your tough enough to do it then more power to you! I am too little and scared to get in there. It doesn't make anyone less of a girl or a lady to punch in faces while running in a circle. In fact there are many a lady I wouldn't mind watching pound a guy or two to a pulp but that lady isn't me.
I am not and can not be like the girl in the picture, I have no desire to. Not to say I don't think that she is amazing and if I knew her I'd down right buy her a drink. But it's not my bag, I'd rather watch the mayhem from the balcony so that I can see both the band and the kids in the pit. So basically I stand by my statement.
I don't mosh, I'm a lady.
Love and metal,
Morose Corsair.
